Spend the rest of your day relaxing at the sun kissed Piazza Tasso as you soak in fabulous views of the water. • Start day two with a visit to Pompeii. Meet your local guide for a tour of the ruined city considered the greatest example of an ancient Roman town. It has been beautifully preserved by the volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. The afternoon lures you into colorful downtown Naples with its open-air markets, then down to the waterfront for a visit to Castello dell’Ovo and Piazza del Plebiscito. Return to Sorrento in the evening. • On day three transfer to the hilltop village of Ravello. Your driver will leisurely roll along the spectacular Amalfi Coast for an en route visit to the former fishing village of Positano. The narrow steps lead you through the charming village to the black pebbled beach for an observation of the islands of the Sirens. After lunch pick up the path, complete with a lemon covered pergola, to Fornillo Beach. Stay overnight in Ravello. • Begin day four with a walk through the medieval footpaths to Ravello’s beautiful 11th century Duomo. Continue to Villa Rufolo and stroll through the flowered terraces offering splendid views of the sea. Next stop is just past the main piazza to Villa Cimbrone. Its garden, known as the “belvedere of infinity,” boasts the bluest view of the Amalfi Coast. Visit the once maritime republic of Amalfi as you wander through its charming center. From Amalfi, it’s a short drive to the quaint fishing village of Atrani where you will spend your evening at leisure at the nightly open-air concert at Villa Rufolo. • Spend the morning of day five with your cooking instructor at her private villa as you prepare the specialties of the Amalfi Coast. Each delicious course will be consumed on a flowered, sea view terrace. After lunch continue into the countryside to a mozzarella cheese farm to learn the production process. From the country, it’s back to the coast to Vietri Sul Mare, one of Italy’s premiere ceramic centers, where you’ll witness a demonstration on this fine art. Return to Ravello and enjoy an evening at leisure. • Day six is transfer day to the Isle of Capri. Board the hydrofoil at the Amalfi dock and cruise the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean to Marina Grande. Then board an open-air taxi to your hotel in Capri center. Spend the rest of your day enjoying the beauty of famous and popular island. • On day seven visit the second town of Anacapri at the top of Capri and the gardens of the Roman style Villa San Michele. From the villa it’s a short walk to the chairlift that will whisk you to the top of the world – Monte Solaro. Here you will be higher than the birds! This is a must-see. • From Anacapri make your way to the Blue Grotto to experience its startling blue water inside a cave as a result of reflecting light – a phenomenon! Spend a leisurely evening. • Spend day eight enjoying the wonders of Capri with its lemony theme, quaint shops, zigzag streets and welcoming residents. • Transfer on day nine via hydrofoil to the port of Naples where you will meet your driver to transfer to the spa town of Fiugi. Relax at the wonderful grounds of your resort hotel, then take an evening stroll through town. Treat your party to a farewell dinner at one of the charming trattorias. • On day ten, transfer to Rome Leonardo
da Vinci Airport. Arrivederci Italia; soon to return.
